How Do I Get Volume on My Gateway Laptop?

Gateway is a popular Windows-based computer, and the company produces a wide range of laptop systems. Each laptop computer allows you to listen and play audio through either the built-in speakers or connected headphones. In order to hear any of the sound your computer is capable of producing you need to turn up the volume and enable the speakers.

Instructions

1. Insert the headphones into the "Line-Out" port of the Gateway laptop, if you want to hear the audio through headphones. If not, make sure nothing is connected to the "Line-Out" port.

2. Double-click the speaker icon in the lower right corner of the desktop. Uncheck any "Mute" option to turn on the audio.

3. Click-and-drag the audio sliders up to increase the volume of the Gateway laptop.

4. Press the volume "Up" or "Down" controls on the top of the keypad. This automatically increases or decreases the volume of the Gateway laptop without actually clicking the desktop icon.
