How to Remove Previous Searches in the Search Bar

The search bar in your Web browser can be a convenient feature thanks to the fact that it allows you to perform Web searches without needing to visit a search engine or similar website.The searches you perform in the search bar remain visible after the search is performed. If you are concerned about your privacy, you can remove the previous searches in the search bar. The steps for removing the searches depends on your Web browser.

Instructions

Safari

1. Click the "Safari" icon in your Mac's dock.

2. Click the "Safari" menu at the top of the screen.

3. Click "Reset Safari."

Internet Explorer

1. Double-click the "Internet Explorer" icon to open the browser window.

2. Press "Ctrl" and "Shift" and "Delete" on your keyboard. A "Delete Browsing History" window will appear.

3. Click to check the boxes next to "History" and "Form Data."

4. Click "Delete."

Firefox

1. Double-click the "Firefox" icon to open the Firefox Web browser.

2. Press "Alt" and "T" on your keyboard to open the "Tools" menu.

3. Choose "Clear Recent History."

4. Click the drop-down menu next to "Time range to clear" and select "Everything."

5. Click the drop-down box next to "Details" and click the "Browsing & Download History" and "Form & Search History" check boxes. Click "Clear Now."
