How to Loop on Garage Band

Save

GarageBand is a computer-based recording program that enables you to create, mix and master songs. Creating loops involves constructing and expanding samples in specific order to compose a complete song. GarageBand not only lets you compose new loops; it also allows you to edit and contribute to existing loops. Options like time stretch and the virtual instrument manipulation tool make it possible for you to apply numerous audio effects as well as alter your recordings.

Things You'll Need

  • Garageband
  • Install the software on your computer. If you don't have the software, download a free version online.

  • Open the program and look toward the bottom right hand corner to bring up "Loop View" by clicking on the "Eyeball" tab.

  • Scroll through the selection of loops and pick one that you're going to use or import your own sample. Select the loop and drag it to middle of the screen.

  • Click the loop and direct the mouse towards the top right corner of the loop. Click and hold the sample and drag the mouse to the right to extend the loop.
