How to Silent-Install AVG

The AVG antivirus program is a popular free and commercial anit-malware and computer security program used on computers that run the Windows Operating System. Although the program can be installed through a traditional installation application that can be downloaded and run from the company's website, the AVG antivirus can also be installed silently using the DOS command line invocation of the command-line options available for use with the AVG antivirus program.

Instructions

1. Download the AVG installation file from the uniform resource locator (URL) provided in the resources below.

2. Open the DOS prompt on your computer by selecting the "Start" and "Run" menu options on your computer. Alternatively, in Windows Vista or newer select the "Start" menu button and enter "command" in the subsequent search text box followed by the "Enter" key.

3. Enter the following command at the DOS prompt followed by the "Enter" key to install AVG silently:
   avg_free_stf_en_8_100a1295.exe /hide /no_welcome

4. Restart your computer and AVG will be installed silently with all of the available AVG tools such as Safe Search and the AVG Firewall installed.
