How to Use Legwarmers
Although dancers use legwarmers to keep their legs warm--especially after warming up as they prepare to dance--non-dancing girls and women are also adding legwarmers to stylish outfits for a touch of creative pizazz. The fashion options for legwarmers include wearing them with leggings, jeans or skirts in a variety of different looks. Use legwarmers to keep your lower legs toasty warm in colorful and funky style. 1
Wear legwarmers over skinny jeans to add color and texture to the long lines of the jeans. Wear the jeans with either heeled pumps or boots and place the legwarmers over your jeans. Slouch the legwarmers slightly so they extend up to approximately the midpoint of your calves and extend down past the tops of your shoes or boots.

2
Add legwarmers to add warmth and color to leggings. When your leggings conform tightly to your legs, adding legwarmers to the outfit will not only add warmth to your legs, but they will add an interesting look to the leggings. Pull the legwarmers up to just below your knees and wear ballerina flats to complete the ensemble.

Select a short skirt that extends down to mid-thigh. Add colored tights that complement the skirt and then top the tights with contrasting or complementing legwarmers. Wear high-heeled pumps with the outfit and slouch the legwarmers down around your ankles and over your feet, covering the tops and heels of the pumps for a sleek and stylish look.

4
Wear a knee-length dress and pull legwarmers on over your calves to meet the hem of your dress. Wear pumps or flats with the outfit and extend the bottoms of the legwarmers over the tops of your shoes.

5
Add legwarmers to workout wear or leotards when you exercise to gain the same benefits dancers gain from wearing legwarmers. When you cover your calves with legwarmers, not only can you work out in stylish comfort, but you can also help keep your muscles warm as you exercise.
