How to Dry Brush Your Face

Dry brushing your face is a way to reveal healthy, younger and more vibrant skin. The top layer of skin is the epidermis, which is made up of several different layers of cells. The horny layers are the dead skin cells that the body naturally sheds every 25 to 30 days. Dry brushing (or exfoliation) can speed up this process, and should be done prior to taking a shower, using a natural fiber brush.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

Wash your face with your favorite cleanser, and wait 15 to 20 minutes for your face to completely dry. Your face should be free of any oils, makeup and dirt. Dry brushing dirty skin can cause your pores to clog, so start with a clean face.

Take your brush and gently dry brush your face. Starting at the forehead, use a gentle circular motion around the perimeter of your face; next brush your cheeks, chin, nose and the upper parts of your eyelids. You should brush your face for no more than one to two minutes.

Wash your face and use your favorite moisturizer. Washing your face will remove all of the dead skin cells that were brushed off your face, and your skin will be more vibrant.
