How to Use a Cell Phone Strap
One of the most practical and functional accessories available for cell phones is the cell phone strap. This accessory is especially useful for women who may not have the option of placing their cell phone in a pocket. It is also a useful safety device, as it can prevent the loss of your phone when you are in a situation in which this would be disastrous. With a cell phone strap, activities such as boating, riding a train or other activities potentially dangerous to phones can now be done safely.

Choose your cell phone strap. Most new cell phone models come with their own strap included. If your particular model does not, or if you wish to have a greater selection, you can choose from any number of designs and colors available at cell phone providers and accessory retailers. These retailers are located in a variety of locations, from large outlets to small mall kiosks.

Install your cell phone strap. Most straps are made up of a long, adjustable band with a small loop on one end made of a smaller, thinner cord. Pass this small loop through the strap hole on your cell phone. Most strap holes are located on the top of the cell phone, near the back, but this may vary from model to model.

Slide the strap loop through the hole as far as you can, and then pass the larger part of the strap through the loop that is now sticking out from the phone. Pull the strap tight. You should have a strap that is securely fastened to your cell phone. Test the strap afterward to make sure it is secure.

Carry your phone with you using the strap. Pass the loop of the strap around your wrist, and pull it tight using the strap tightener. The phone can now be carried loosely at your side at all times or held in your hand.

Tips & Warnings
It is possible to make your own cell phone strap using leather cord or any type of thin rope or cord. Just tie a small loop through the strap hole in the cell phone and then a bigger loop for your wrist.
Many commercially available cell phone straps offer some type of gadget or device such as a flashlight or a USB drive, so be aware of these when making your selection.
Be careful not to carry your keys in the same hand and never attach them to the cell phone strap, as this can cause scratching or other damage to your cell phone.
