How to Wash Ugg Boots
Uggs are sheepskin boots that originated in Australia and have become an Australian icon. The first Uggs were ankle-high boots in a tan color. There are now many designs of Ugg boots, from knee highs booties, and multiple colors. They have evolved from a comfy, around-the-house boot for cold winter days to an all-out fashion item, sported regularly by stars like Pamela Andersen and Britney Spears. Things You'll Need
- Water
- Sponge
- Bucket
- Mild wool detergent/sheepskin conditioner
- Newspaper

Moisten the outside of your Ugg boots in clean, cold water using the sponge.

Mix the wool detergent or sheepskin conditioner in the bucket, using only a couple of squirts in a full bucket. The solution should be well-diluted to avoid staining the delicate outer sheepskin.

Dip the sponge in the diluted detergent solution, then gently rub the outer side of the Ugg boots.

Re-dip the sponge and put your hand inside the ugg boot, gently agitating the wool inside to loosen the dirt. Work up a decent lather inside, to fully clean the inside wool. Repeat on the second Ugg boot.

Rinse the Ugg boots in cold water once they are hand cleaned.

Wring the boots gently to get out excess water, then stuff them lightly with the newspaper to keep their shape.

Place the Ugg boots in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from heat sources and not in direct sunlight. Let them dry naturally.

Tips & Warnings
Do not machine wash your Ugg boots.
Do not apply detergents directly to the Ugg boot surface, as this will stain the boot surface.
Do not attempt to dry the Ugg boots with a heat source, such as a heater of hair dryer, as this will shrink the boots.
