Natural Homemade Laxatives

Natural Homemade Laxatives thumbnail
Make a homemade laxative with common food items.

When you suffer from constipation, you will feel uncomfortable and need relief. Instead of purchasing laxatives from the store, however, you can make your own homemade laxative to relieve the uncomfortable feeling and any pain associated with the constipation. You can also use a natural homemade laxative to cleanse your system of toxins. Once you learn how to make your own version, you will no longer need to depend on commercial laxatives.

Instructions

  1. Homemade Fruit Laxative Spread

    • 1

Steep the senna tea in 2 ½ cups of boiling water for 5 minutes.

    • 2

Remove the tea leaves. Pour 1 pint of the tea in a large pot.

    • 3

Add 1 lb. each of raisins, prunes and figs to the tea. Boil the fruit and tea for 5 minutes

    • 4

Remove the ingredients from the heat source. Add 1 cup brown sugar and 1 cup lemon juice.

    • 5

Allow the mixture to cool. Place in a blender to create a smooth paste. Put paste in a sealed plastic container and place it in the freezer; the paste will not freeze, but it will last a lot longer.

    • 6

Add 1 to 2 tbsp. of the mixture a day to your diet. You can mix it with hot water to make a drink, spread it on toast or eat it straight from the spoon.

    Homemade Laxative Tea

    • 7

Bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Mix in 1 tbsp. of broken licorice root.

    • 8

Boil the licorice root and water for 1 hour.

    • 9

Remove from the heat source, and strain in a mesh colander.

    • 10

Pour in ½ cup of your preferred fruit juice. This will dilute the tea and make it taste better.

    • 11

Drink 1 cup of the tea in the morning and 1 cup at night.
