How to Become an EMT in Arizona
EMTs are licensed by the Bureau of Emergency Services and Trauma System. There are 3 EMT certifications: EMT-B, EMT-T(99) and EMT-P. To become an EMT, you need to start with the basic license, the EMT-B license. The EMT-B license requires completion of a department-approved training course and a passing score on the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) basic exam. The EMT-B license is valid for two years from certification date.
