How to Download a Newer Version of LimeWire

Downloading the latest version of LimeWire takes about two minutes.

According to the LimeWire support page, LimeWire is a peer-to-peer file sharing program that allows users to search for and download files from other users. LimeWire also states that "Any users with LimeWire 2.5 or earlier MUST update." Downloading a newer version of LimeWire is easily done from any web browser and only takes a few minutes of your time. LimeWire is completely free if you download the Basic package.

Instructions

1. Open your Internet browser and navigate to the LimeWire download page.

2. Click the green button on the right side of the screen that reads "Get Basic" to download the free version of LimeWire. Clicking "Get PRO" or "Extended PRO" prompts you to enter your personal and payment information, since LimeWire Pro is subscription based.

3. Click "Save File" when prompted by your computer in order to save the newer version of LimeWire.

4. Navigate to the location on your computer where your Internet browser saves downloads to find the LimeWire installation file.

5. Double-click the installation file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the latest version of LimeWire.
