How to Create a Collage Online

How to Create a Collage Online thumbnail
Take your memories from your photo album and put them into an online photo collage.

A collage, or a collection of designs or photos, is one way to get an idea across or to showcase something special. You might make a collage of photos from your baby's first year, or a collage of photos of your college experience. In the past, collages were constructed the hard way--by taking pictures, cutting them up and gluing them to a sheet of paper or poster board. Today, you can upload your photos or scanned mementos to a photo sharing program or a photo sharing website and create a collage with the click of a button.

Instructions

    • 1

Download photo-sharing software that has photo editing options such as collages. Some photo-sharing software contenders include Picasa, Kodak Easy Share and Shutterfly. You can access these programs online or download them to your computer. Once you run the program, the program will find the photos on your computer. You can then add photos to your program's library. Each of these programs, and several other programs, has a "collage" option. Click on it, and then follow the on screen directions to choose photos from your album to add to the collage. Depending on the size of the collage, you can add anywhere from three or four photos to twenty photos. Choose "create" to create the collage.

    • 2

Go to an online photo collage creation site. There are hundreds, but some are listed in the Resources section below for you to choose from. Once at the site, choose "Create Collage." Then choose "Upload Photos." Browse through your computer to choose the photos you would like to include in the collage.

    • 3

Organize the photos within the collage creator program by dragging them into various places. Or, you can choose "Create," and the program will put the photos together to create a collage.

    • 4

Click "Finish" or "Save" or "Done," depending on the program, when you are done with your collage. You can save it to the hard drive of your computer. Then, you can print it out, send it to friends or use it online.
