How to Erase Pages on an N64 Controller Pack

Save

Not all games for the Nintendo 64 gaming system, often referred to by gamers as the "N64," have the ability to hold game saves on the actual game cartridge. One way you can save information from these Nintendo 64 games is to use a Controller Pack. The Controller Pack that you use with your N64 will have a certain amount of "pages" that can hold game saves. You may need to erase pages from time to time in order to free up space on the Controller Pack.

  • Plug an N64 controller into the "Player 1" port on the Nintendo 64.

  • Place the N64 Controller Pack into the memory card slot on the Nintendo 64 controller.

  • Insert a Nintendo 64 game into the cartridge slot on the N64.

  • Hold down "Start" on the N64 controller.

  • Turn the Nintendo 64 on via the "Power" switch on the device. After the console loads, the Controller Pack menu will appear on the screen.

  • Release the "Start" button on the N64 controller.

  • Browse through the saves listed, using the N64 controller's directional pad.

  • Highlight the game you want to erase.

  • Select the "Delete" option. The pages that were occupied by the game save will be erased from the Controller Pack.

  • Repeat Steps 7 though 9 until you're finished erasing pages on the Controller Pak. Restart the N64 if you wish to play the game that was inserted into the device, or turn the Nintendo 64 off if you are done using the console.
