WinZip is a file compression software designed to zip and unzip files on the Windows operating system. Zip files are an especially popular method of transferring files to users over the Internet. File compression software will compress and reduce the file size making the transfer of files easier and faster online. Users may compress their files into a zip file using the WinZip software. A user may also open zip files with WinZip.

      Locate the zip file you want to unzip with WinZip on your computer.

      Double-click on the zip file.

      Select "1-Click Unzip" when prompted by WinZip and your zip file will be opened and its contents will be displayed within the WinZip interface.

    Alternative Method

      Launch WinZip.

    • 5

      Select the "Open" button at the top of the WinZip interface.

    • 6

      Select the zip file you want to open in the Browser window. Select the "Open" button in your browser window to confirm that you want to open that file. The zip file and its contents will be displayed in the WinZip interface.
