How to Create a Calendar in Microsoft Access 2003

Microsoft provides several common objects for your Access database forms, reports and data access pages. The calendar is a pop-up control that allows users to pick and choose a date. The calendar control acts similarly to a calendar control used in the .NET programming framework. There is no coding necessary, and you can create a control by simply adding it to your Access form from the Access toolbox.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Microsoft Access. Right-click the form, report or data access page and select "Design Viewer". This opens a view where you can drag and drop controls directly to your Access application forms.

    • 2

Click the "More Tools" button in the main Access toolbar. This displays a list of controls you can add to the form.

    • 3

Click the calendar object and drag it to a location on your Access form. You can resize and move the control across the form until it's laid out to fit your form.

    • 4

Click the calendar control and press the F4 key. This opens a dialog box so you can set the calendar control's properties. In the "Name" text box, give the control a friendly name. Click "OK" to save your settings.
