The Alpine CVA-1003 is a mobile multimedia station that you can use as a replacement for your factory-installed radio. Installing the unit in your vehicle is similar to installing a new stereo or CD player. The CVA-1003 is installed in the same opening in the dash as the factory-installed radio. This means you can install the Alpine SVA-1003 by first removing the factory radio from the dash of your vehicle.

  • DIN tool
  • Mounting bracket (included with system)
  • Screws (included with system)
  • Mounting sleeve (included with system)
  • Flat-head screwdriver
  • Front frame (included with system)

Instructions

  1. Remove Old Radio

    • 1

      Insert the DIN tool into the holes on the front of the factory-installed radio.

      Pull the handles of the DIN tool outward to unlock the plastic clips that are used to secure the radio in the dash.

      Pull the old radio out of the dash, then disconnect the wiring harness.

      Set the old radio aside.

    Installation

    • 5

      Secure a mounting bracket to each side of the CVA-1003 with the screwdriver. Two screws are used to secure the mounting bracket to the unit. Insert the mounting sleeve into the dashboard.

      Secure the ground wire to a screw under the dashboard with the screwdriver.

    • 7

      Connect the wiring harness to the back of the CVA-1003, then insert the unit into the mounting sleeve.

      Press firmly on the front, then push on the locking pin on the side of the unit with the screwdriver to secure it in the dash.

      Set the front frame on the CVA-1003, then press it into place. The front frame will snap onto the front of the unit.

Tips & Warnings

  • The Alpine CVA-1003 is XM-ready.

  • You might need to take off plastic molding or trim that is attached to the dash before removing the factory-installed radio.
