How to Assess Employee Morale
Monitoring the morale of your employees is an important part of business. Workers who suffer from low morale are prone to lower productivity, meaning that results are often incomplete or inaccurate. Therefore, it is beneficial for all managers to take steps to assess the morale of their team.

1
Leave the office to assess morale. Step out of your office. You will never know the morale of your employees if you are not among them.
-
2
Glu- looking workers may indicate poor morale. Walk around the workplace, observing whether employees are laughing and talking while working. If they are simply staring at their screens and looking glum, this may be an indicator of low morale.
-
-
3
Ask questions of your employees. Try to find the opportunity to ask questions of your employees in an informal atmosphere, such as while making a cup of tea.
-
4
An informal chat can reveal a lot. Ask leading questions, such as "How do you feel about your workload?" or "Do you enjoy your work?"
-
5
Listen carefully to what is being said. Listen to their responses. If the employee is too shy or wary to give you a truthful answer, take note of their body language. This will often give away how they really feel.
-
6
Make a list of important points raised. Learn from what has been said, by taking notes and acting upon them.
-
7
Go-karting is an excellent team-building activity. Improve morale by taking your group on a free lunch or on a team-building activity.
