How to Convert WAV to WMA Lossless
Although there are audio converter programs available online that allow you to convert .wav files to WMA (Windows Media Audio) Lossless files, the default program Windows Media Player on your PC does the same function--for free. By first burning the .wav file to a CD and then ripping the CD in Windows Media Player, you can convert your .wav files without the hassle of purchasing a product license for a third-party audio converter program.
Instructions
-
-
1
Click the "Start" button on the desktop's task bar, and select "All Programs" and "Windows Media Player."
-
2
Select the "Rip" tab at the top of the program window, and select "More Options" from the sub-menu.
-
-
3
Click the "Rip Music" tab, and select the drop-down menu underneath the "Format" section. Click "WMA Lossless" from the drop-down menu, and click the "OK" button to save the settings.
-
4
Click the "Burn" tab at the top of the Windows Media Player window, and drag and drop the .wav files from the "Music" section in the program's sidebar to the Burn List.
-
5
Insert a blank CD-R into your CD-RW drive, and click the "Burn" button to burn the .wav files to the blank CD. The CD will automatically eject once the burning process is complete.
-
6
Insert the CD back into the computer, and click the arrow on the "Rip" tab. Select "Rip (CD Name)" to convert the .wav files on the CD to WMA Lossless.
