How to Upgrade Internet Explorer for XP

Internet Explorer is a Web browser by Microsoft that comes pre-installed with the Windows operating systems. If you have Windows XP on your computer the chances are the Internet Explorer version installed there is an older one. The latest versions of the browser have increased searching capabilities and improved user interface. Fortunately, you can upgrade your Internet Explorer for XP system at no charge.

Instructions

1. Go to Microsoft Download Center (see link in the References section) and click the "Start download" link under "Windows Internet Explorer 8 for Windows XP." Click on "Save" in the confirmation pop-up to begin the download.

2. Double-click the saved file once the download is finished and click on "Yes" to execute the file.

3. Follow the step-by-step instructions of the Installation Wizard to automatically upgrade your Internet Explorer browser to the latest version.
