As more cell phone users make their cell phone their only phone, the address books in those phones become larger and more inclusive. Personalizing your address book with pictures of contacts makes identifying callers as quick as a glance at your handset. Although the brand and model of your cell phone dictate how you can add a picture file to a contact, it is generally as simple as choosing the correct one on your handset.
Turn on your cell phone. Navigate to the address book application on your handset. Scroll through the list of contacts in your cell phone's address book until you find the one you want to add a picture file to.
Highlight the contact in question. Press the menu key on your cell phone. Click "Edit." Scroll the list of address book options available and click "Contact Picture."
Click "Browse" to locate the desired picture file on your cell phone's device files. Select the desired picture file and press the OK/Enter key. Press the menu key again and click "Save" to finish the process.
Tips & Warnings
- A customized picture file helps you identify the caller quickly through visual cues. Be sure to use a picture file that you easily associate with the contact and avoid using one picture file for multiple contacts in your address book.
- There are hundreds of cell phone models on the mobile market, each with their own interface and programming. Always defer to your cell phone user manual if you have any trouble adding a picture to your contact files.
