How to Make All My Table Columns the Same Size

Save

If you have tables within a Microsoft Word 2007 document, you might want to format them to have equal sized columns to make the tables more aesthetically pleasing. Equal columns also help keep data orderly and easy to read. Fortunately you do not need to adjust each column individually, as Microsoft Word automates the process for you.

  • Click anywhere within the table. The menu ribbon across the top of the screen will change to display various options for customizing your table.

  • Click the "Layout" tab on the ribbon. The ribbon will now display various options for changing the format of your table.

  • Click on the "Distribute Columns" button on the ribbon. This will make all of your columns the same size.
