How to Create a Form in Excel 2007


Microsoft Excel 2007 is a spreadsheet application that allows users to store any type of data, create charts and perform equations. When working with a spreadsheet, you may have a row of data that is long and requires horizontal scrolling in the application. Creating a data form will open a dialog box that allows you to add, edit, delete and find rows in your table. In Excel 2007, the "Form" button is initially hidden, but it can be accessed from the Quick Access Toolbar.

  • Open the Microsoft Excel 2007 application. Click the “Microsoft Office” button and select “Open.”

  • Locate the Excel 2007 file stored on your computer for which you want to create a form. Select the file and click on the “Open” button.

  • Add any column headers to the columns within the spreadsheet. Click on any cell in the data table where you want to add the form.

  • Click on the arrow next to the Quick Access Toolbar and click on the “More Commands” option. Click on the “All Commands” option and select the “Form” button from the list.

  • Click on the “Form” button from the Quick Access Toolbar. The data form will appear as a dialog box within the spreadsheet.

  • Click on the "New" button within the data form dialog box if you want to enter data for a new row. Enter the data into the new field that appears in the dialog box and the press "Enter."

  • Click on the "Find Next" or "Find Prev" buttons to navigate to each row in the data form dialog box. Click on the "Criteria" button to enter any data you want to search for within the form.

  • Change data in a row in the data form dialog box by clicking on any row and entering the new data. Press "Enter" and the row will be updated on the form and in your spreadsheet.
