Disable the tabs on your browser to conserve resources.

Browser tabs have become the norm in browsers such as Internet Explorer and Firefox. At times, however, you may want to disable tabs because they tend to take up some extra system resources to run. Stopping tabs takes about two minutes.

Instructions

  1. Internet Explorer

    • 1

      Launch your Internet Explorer.

      Hit "Tools" in the main menu bar.

    • 3

      Scroll down and click "Internet Options." Click the "General" tab.

    • 4

      Hit the "Settings" button in the Tabs section. Remove the check mark next to "Enable Tabbed Browsing." Hit the "OK" button.

    Firefox

    • 5

      Open a browser and find the Tab Killer download site using the link in Resources.

    • 6

      Click the "Download Latest Version" link. The add-on should download and install on to your Firefox browser.

    • 7

      Restart your browser.
