By signing up and providing The Weather Channel with your cell phone number, you can receive daily text messages with your local weather forecast. If you decide you no longer want to receive the alerts, unsubscribing is a straightforward process. All you have to do is send a message back.

Instructions

1. Turn on your cell phone and begin a new text message.

2. Enter the following number into the "To" field: 42278 or 78676; one of them will be the number you've been receiving weather alerts from as well.

3. In the text message's body, type "STOP" and send the message. This will unsubscribe you from The Weather Channel's weather alert service. You may receive one more text message confirming that you've stopped the alerts.
