How to Reset TouchPad Settings for an HP Pavilion DV6000

Instead of a standard computer mouse, your HP Pavilion DV6000 laptop computer comes with a built-in touch pad that you use to control your onscreen cursor. You slide your finger across the touch pad and it moves the cursor on your monitor wherever you need it to go. If you've changed settings on your HP Pavilion DV6000 touch pad and would like to reset them to their original settings, you can do this through the Control Panel.

  • Click "Start," select "Control Panel," then open "Mouse."

  • Click "Device Settings." This will take you to the settings page for the touchpad on your HP Pavilion DV6000 laptop computer.

  • Click "Reset Devices." This will reset the settings on your laptop's touchpad back to the way they originally worked before you made changes.
