Easy Way to Put a Duvet Cover on a Duvet
Duvet covers work like giant-sized pillowcases for your comforter. When you keep your comforter in a duvet cover, your comforter stays clean. You can also change the look of your bedroom in minutes when you change the duvet cover. One simple way to put a duvet cover on your comforter requires using twill tape, which looks like a flat, woven ribbon and comes in linen, cotton, wool or polyester. Cut twill tape in eight pieces at 8-inch lengths. You will use these pieces as ties for your comforter and duvet cover.

Turn the duvet cover wrong side out.

Sew one twill tape tie on the seam by every duvet corner.

Sew a twill tape tie on each corner of the comforter.

Lay the duvet cover on the bed, keeping it wrong side out.

Open the duvet cover all the way. Depending on the construction of the duvet cover, you may need to unzip or unbutton it.

Place the comforter on top of the opened duvet cover. Tie the twill tape ties of the comforter and duvet cover together at each corner. This will keep the comforter securely attached to the cover.

Turn the duvet cover right side out, leaving the comforter on the inside.

Arrange the comforter, then close the duvet cover.

Tips & Warnings
Sew your own duvet covers with flat sheets measuring about 1 1/2 inches larger than the comforter all around.
