How to Dry Calendula Flowers

A flowering herbaceous herb, calendula thrives commonly in flower beds and country gardens throughout the world. The bright yellow-orange petals of the calendula flower create striking splashes of bright colors that accentuate garden environments and home decor schemes. Drying the calendula flowers at home proves to be a simple process to achieve whether you're making an herbal calendula tea or using the yellow petals in a floral craft.

Things You'll Need

• Calendula flowers
• Rubber band
• Paper bag
• Paper plate

Instructions

1. Gather a bundle of calendula flowers from your garden. Make the bundle a large handful.

2. Insert the bundle of flowers, blossoms down, into the paper bag.

3. Squeeze your hand around the paper bag and stems of the calendula flowers and bind the bag and stems together with a rubber band. This closes the bag and keeps the flowers from touching the bottom of it.

4. Place the bag on a paper plate.

5. Allow the flowers to hang upside down in the paper sack for approximately two weeks.
