How Do You Make Lavender Pillow Mist?

Treating linens or pillows with a mist of lavender scented spray is thought to promote relaxation. Herbalists and aromatherapists tout the powers of lavender as a sleep aid. The scent is naturally calming to many, and may offer natural relaxation. Lavender pillow mists and linen sprays may be purchased or made at home. Making homemade sprays allows you to adjust the strength of the scent, which may be helpful if you are sensitive to perfumes.

Things You'll Need

• 1 cup distilled water
• Measuring cup
• Lavender essential oils
• Spoon
• Spray bottle
• Printable label
• Markers

Instructions

1. Mix 8 to 10 drops of lavender essential oils into 1 cup of distilled water.

2. Stir the mixture together to blend the oil and water as much as possible.

3. Pour the pillow mist into a spray bottle.

4. Spray newly washed sheets and pillows with the spray. Spray linens with the mist before ironing.

Tips & Warnings

• Oil and water do not mix, so it may be necessary to shake the bottle before use. Select a spray bottle with a fine mist setting for a faint amount of spray. When making a new batch, adjust the strength of the fragrance by adding more or less lavender oil.
