How to Reset Service on a 2005 Maxima

Nissan's flagship sedan, the Maxima, uses an internal computer to remind you when it's time to bring the vehicle in for service. The dash displays a "Service" light when this interval passes. Reset the service indicator to turn off the light after having your scheduled maintenance performed. It will not re-appear until your next service interval.

Things You'll Need

  • Keys
  • Insert your key and either crank your engine or turn the ignition to "On."

  • Press and hold the button labeled "Maint." This button is on your control panel, beneath the button labeled "Settings."

  • Hold the "Maint" button for 2 seconds to reset the service indicator. Turn the ignition off.

Tips & Warnings

  • Press the "Right" or "Left" arrow on the control panel joystick to change the service interval if so desired (the default is 3000 miles).
