How to Open and Convert Raw Files in Adobe Photoshop 7 thumbnail
Convert RAW image file,

A RAW file is an unedited, uncompressed image captured on a digital camera. The image exists as originally taken by the camera before digital software tools, such as Adobe Photoshop 7, are used to correct color, lighting and exposure and other adjustments. Because RAW image files are typically large in size, it's desirable to compress the edited image into a smaller format such as .jpeg for storing on a computer or CD, or printing. Photoshop 7 software makes the conversion process as simple as clicking a mouse.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the Photoshop 7 software by double-clicking the program name, or the square icon with an eye offset to the right.

    • 2

Click the "File" tab in the upper left-hand corner, and select "Open" to reveal a folder of images stored on the computer.

    • 3

Double-click on a RAW image file to open the photo on the computer screen, then edit as desired using the Photoshop image adjustment tools.

    • 4

Click the "File" tab once more and select "Save As," then type a name for the edited RAW image in the box provided.

    • 5

Click the down arrow next to the "Format" option and select a file format for converting the RAW image, such as .jpeg or .tif.

    • 6

Click the "Save" button to open another window for adjusting image quality with a slide control, then click "OK" to save the new image on the computer.
