How to Transfer EBooks to a Kindle 2
The Kindle 2 is an electronic reading device that allows you to download ebooks and other documents that you have stored on your computer. You can also purchase ebooks from the Kindle Store and have them downloaded directly to your Kindle 2. The Kindle 2 supports MOBI, PRC, TXT, TPZ, AZW and PDF formatted documents. A major feature of the Kindle 2 is its "E-ink" screen display, which creates a "printed paper" effect. This feature helps to reduce the eye strain that is associated with reading from most electronic devices.

1
Locate the USB cable that came with your Kindle 2. This device uses a smaller USB cable than other devices that you may regularly use, so you will not be able to use an alternative USB cable.
-
2
Plug the small end of the USB cable into your Kindle 2 and plug the opposing end into your computer. You should see the "Kindle 2" icon appear in your "My Computer" or "Desktop" menu on your computer.

3
Locate the ebook file or files that you wish to transfer. Either drag and drop the files onto the Kindle 2 icon or open the ebook file by clicking "File" > "Save As" > "Kindle 2." Once your digital files are transferred to the Kindle 2 folder, they will upload to your Kindle 2 automatically.
