How to Fax International Faxes to Mexico

Instructions

4. Dial 52. This Mexico country code connects your fax machine to the Mexico phone system. Dial the area code and phone number to complete the call and send a fax.

5. Listen for the connection. Wait a few seconds for the fax machines to connect. You will hear a fax dial tone when the Mexico fax machine is ready to receive the documents. Press the sending button on your fax. The fax feeder will then pull in the documents and automatically send the fax.

Tips & Warnings

• Make a phone call or send an email to the receiver in Mexico both before and after sending the fax. The receiver needs to put his machine in fax mode and make sure it is loaded with paper. Fax machines sometimes have sending errors. You need to contact the receiver to confirm receipt of the fax.

• Callers making domestic calls within a country use a "trunk code." The Mexico trunk code is 01. Do not put this number in front of the area code and phone number when sending an international fax to Mexico. Trunk codes do not apply to international faxes or phone calls.
