Instructions

    • 1

Power off your LCD monitor and unplug it before cleaning.

    • 2

Wipe the body of your monitor free of dust using a soft, non-abrasive microfiber cloth.

    • 3

Apply some warm water to a soft cloth and wipe away any fingerprints, grime or dirt from the body of the monitor. You might have to apply some pressure. Dry the monitor using another soft cloth immediately.

    • 4

Clean the power cord using a damp cloth, gently gripping the cord and sliding the cord through the cloth. Dry it immediately afterward using a dry cloth the same way.

    • 5

Wipe the screen gently using a soft, non-abrasive and lint-free microfiber cloth. Don't use the same cloth you used to wipe the body as dust may be on it and it could scratch the screen. Be careful, applying as little pressure as possible. If the monitor has gunk or fingerprints, apply some distilled water to the cloth before cleaning. Tap or bottled water has minerals that will spot or scratch the monitor. Dry the screen immediately afterward to avoid streaking.

Use a can of compressed air to clear any dust from the monitor's vents. Be sure to spray in quick, short bursts. If you don't, some of the chemical might pour out of the can and damage the monitor.

Tips & Warnings

  • Never use ammonia, acetone, methyl chloride, ethyl acid, ethyl alcohol, glass cleaner or toluene to clean your monitor. These agents could permanently damage the display.

  • Always make sure the LCD monitor is completely dry before plugging it back in and turning it on again.
