How to Reset the Oil Change Light on a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix

The 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix comes equipped with many modern comforts, including sensory lights that alert you when something is wrong with the vehicle. The "Change oil" light is especially valuable, alerting the driver when it is time to chance the oil. If you get your oil changed at a service shop, they'll reset the light for you and you'll be good to go until the next service interval (usually 3,000-5,000 miles). However, if you choose to change your own oil, you'll also need to know how to reset the light yourself.

Instructions

1. Turn the ignition key to run. Ensure that the engine remains off.

2. Push and release the gas pedal three times within five seconds. The "Change oil soon" light will flash, indicating that the system is resetting itself.

3. Turn the ignition key off.

4. Start your Pontiac Grand Prix. The light should go off at this time.
