How to Hang Metal Outdoor Signs
If you have a message that you would like to share with people around your home or at your workplace, consider hanging a metal sign to do it. You can make a metal sign as simple or as decorative as you want while it still offers a straightforward message. One of the major benefits of hanging a metal sign is that it lasts much longer than a wooden or plastic sign. If you don't hang it properly, though, it may not last as long as you might hope. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

1
Select a location to hang your sign. The elements such as rain or sun can strip the color from the sign, so choose a place that receives at least some protection.
-
2
Run a stud detector over the wall where you will hang the metal sign. The studs are the wooden supports of the wall. Using the wooden studs to hang the sign will add a strong anchor to the metal sign and hopefully prevent it from falling.

3
Mark each stud you find lightly with a pencil. This will help you remember their location while you hang the sign.
-
4
Place the sign against the wall. Spread it over as many of the studs as you can. Set a level on top of the sign and ensure it is level.
-
5
Screw the sign into the wall. Anchor it to as many of the studs as you are able. Keep the screws off to the sides of the sign so that you do not mar the center of the sign.
