How to Uninstall Parallels and Windows Vista
Parallels is a desktop program for Mac computers while Windows Vista is the sixth version of Microsoft's core operating system. Removing both of these programs from your computers can allow you to more effectively tailor your computers to your specifications, allowing you to install other applications and operating systems in their place.

Uninstall Parallels

Insert the Parallels CD into your Mac.

Click "Uninstall Parallels."

Open "Finder," "Applications" and "Utilities." Enter the following commands one at a time, pressing "Enter" after each: "cd /Library/StartupItems/," "sudo rm -rf Parallels," "cd /Applications," "sudo rm -rf Parallels," "cd /System/Library/Extensions/," "sudo rm -rf vmmain.kext," "sudo rm -rf hypervisor.kext," "sudo rm -rf," "Pvsvnic.kext," "sudo rm -rf ConnectUSB.kext," "sudo rm -rf Pvsnet.kext."

Restart the computer.
Uninstall Vista

Insert the DOS boot CD into the computer.

Restart the computer. Press any key to boot into DOS.

Type "format x:" and press "Enter," replacing "x" with the drive letter containing Vista.

Press "Y" to confirm.
