How to Make "Guild Wars" Run Faster on my Computer
"Guild Wars" is a highly popular massively multi-player online (MMO) role-playing game that was released in April 2005. It is one of the most successful free-to-play titles the MMO genre has to offer and has a dedicated staff of developers who continue to add episodic expansions that continue game-play and the game's main storyline. While "Guild Wars" is considered an older MMO, it has kept up with the graphics and performance of newly released titles, which makes it difficult to run the game smoothly on older computers. This can be remedied by lowering the graphics settings from the "Guild Wars" client.
Instructions

1
Open the "Guild Wars" client. Allow the program to start up like normal, which can take several minutes depending on your Internet connection and computer performance.
-
2
Log in to your "Guild Wars" account to access the main menu. Open the "Options" menu from the main menu. Select the "Graphics" tab in this menu. From here you can adjust the video and other settings of the game.

3
Lower the graphics settings to their lowest point. This will limit the amount of problems you have logging into the game. Select "Apply" or "OK" to save these settings
-
4
Select a character to play as and allow the game to load your character into the world.
-
5
Open your "Options" menu again by pressing the "F11" key (default button). Steadily increase the settings until you are satisfied with the graphics and performance of the game.

Tips & Warnings
Before you do anything, turn off the anti-aliasing option. Anti-aliasing is a very resource-intensive process that smooths out the lines around characters and objects.
Turn off "post-processing" to get rid of intense lighting effects. These lighting effects can make it hard for the player to distinguish real white from lighting and use a lot of resources.
Updating graphics card drivers can also help tremendously.
Lowering graphics settings will make the game perform better but textures, meshes, models and so on will look more like blocks and be blurred.
Lowering these settings will improve the game's performance but some older computers still may not run "Guild Wars" if they do not meet the minimum system requirements.
