TaxAct is commercial tax preparation software offered free to individuals. TaxAct offers small business tax preparation software as a paid product. The small business software can be downloaded or purchased as a CD. Several versions are available. They are tailored to the business structure of the small business (LLC, partnership, S Corp., or C Corp.). Small business returns are not able to be completed online like the personal returns can be.

      Start the TaxAct program on your computer and click to create a new return. Insert the requested information into the software questionnaire. Not all forms or fields will be necessary for all businesses. Changes can be made to fields if you discover an error.
      If you discover that your records are incomplete, you can save the return and complete it later.
      After reviewing the data you entered, if you are sure the return is complete, click finish.

      Save copies of the completed return as either a PDF file or print them to a paper copy. The PDF cannot be altered later.

      Print a copy of your tax return for filing. Businesses can submit their employees' W-2 information online, but tax returns must be filed by paper copy.
