How to Make a PC Sound Better Without Speakers

The quality of a computer's audio output is partially determined by its speakers and partially determined by your sound card. When upgrading speakers is not an option, increase the sound quality of your PC by upgrading the sound card, enabling the computer to produce a wider range of clearer sounds by utilizing the advanced technology of the additional card.

Things You'll Need

• Sound card
• Phillips-head screwdriver
• Driver CD

Instructions

1. Shut down the computer and unplug it.

2. Remove the screws at the back of the case and remove the side panel.

3. Unscrew the old audio card from the case and pull it out of the computer.

4. Insert the new audio card in its place and screw it into position.

5. Close up the computer and restart it. Insert the software CD into the computer and follow the instructions that came with your sound card to install the appropriate files.
