How to Use Bellsouth Voicemail
In 2006, AT&T and BellSouth joined forces in an effort to provide a better experience for consumers. Many of those consumers, despite the merger, still reference the company as BellSouth. AT&T/BellSouth offers three basic types of voicemail services: residential, business and wireless.

Residential Voicemail

Dial "*98" from your home touch-tone telephone.Alternatively, dial your special "Memory Call" access number from your home telephone or any remote location.

Press "*" to interrupt the voicemail greeting. Enter the password to access your voicemail.

Press "9" to access your "Mailbox Options." Change options such as your mailbox greeting and password. Press "*" to exit "Mailbox Options" and return to the "Main Menu."

Press "1" from the "Main Menu" to begin listening to your voicemail messages. Press "2" to save a message or "3" to delete. Press the "*" key at any time to return to the "Main Menu."

Press "7" from the "Main Menu" to access voicemail messages for additional mailbox users.
Business Voicemail

Dial "*98" from your office touch-tone telephone. If you are away from the office, dial your special voicemail access number.

Press "*" to interrupt the voicemail greeting. Enter the password to access your voicemail.

Press "9" from the "Main Menu" to change your mailbox greetings. Select option "1" to record a new personal greeting. Press "2" to record a "busy" greeting. Press "4" to record an extended absence greeting to let your clients know that you are going to be away from the office for a while.

Create mailboxes for other workers in your office by pressing "9" from the "Main Menu." Select option "2" and option "4."

Press "1" from the "Main Menu" to begin listening to your voicemail messages. Press "2" to save a message or "3" to delete. Press "5" to forward the message to another mailbox. Press the "*" key at any time to return to the "Main Menu."
Wireless Voicemail

Dial your 10-digit wireless telephone number from a touch-tone telephone. Alternatively, access your voicemail by pressing and holding the "1" key on your wireless device.

Press the "*" key during the voicemail greeting. Enter your password. If you have forgotten your password, contact AT&T/BellSouth to retrieve it.

Press "4" to access your personal mailbox options. Press "3" to change your personal mailbox greeting or "2" to change your mailbox password. Press the "*" key to exit back out to the "Main Menu."

Press "1" from the "Main Menu" to begin listening to your voicemail messages. Press "1" to replay a message. Press "7" to delete a message. Press "#" to skip through messages.

Press "*" from the "Main Menu" to exit the voicemail system.
