You can save a list of email addresses in a text file.

Most email programs will automatically fill in the names of other recipients when you "Reply All" to an email message you receive, but this option isn't available when you're the one sending the first email. Luckily, saving a list of emails from a CC field for use in future emails is a quick and painless process. If you message the same group of people frequently, you may want to consider creating a mailing list.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the email containing the CCed emails you want to save.

    • 2

Expand the message details if you cannot see the entire list of CCed email addresses on your screen. In Gmail, click "Expand Details" to expand the full list. In Microsoft Outlook, click "Options" from the "Message" tab, then select "Dialog Box Launcher." The full list will appear on the "Cc:" line in the "Internet Headers" box.

    • 3

Click your mouse immediately before the first email address, hold, and drag the cursor to the very end of the CC: list so all the addresses are highlighted.

    • 4

Hit "Ctrl + C" to copy the list.

    • 5

Open a new text document in your preferred word processing program (for example, Notepad or Microsoft Word).

    • 6

Click anywhere inside the text document. Press "Ctrl + V" to paste the list.

    • 7

Press "Ctrl + S" to save the file containing your email list. Save it in an easy-to-find location for future reference.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also paste the list into the body of an email and send it to yourself.

  • Consult your email program's "Help" menu for instructions how to createa a mailing list. You can save the list of CCed emails as a mailing list/contact group, which means you can email the entire group by entering just one address in the CC: field.
