How to Check if a Domain Is Registered With DMOZ & Yahoo
To help drive traffic to your website, you should index or register your domain with the search engines. Once you apply to have your domain indexed, the search engine will view, categorize, and rank your site accordingly. Search engines can take weeks or months to index domains and Web pages because of the volume of indexing that occurs daily. You can always check to see if your site has been indexed on Yahoo! and DMOZ.
