How to Use the Self-Timer on a Kodak Easyshare 763

The Kodak EasyShare 763 digital camera was designed with a self-timer. The self-timer serves two purposes. First, it allows the photographer to become a part of the photograph. Second, it prevents camera shake when taking photographs. Camera shake occurs when the photographer presses the shutter button. The self-timer eliminates this shake by allowing the photographer to steady his hand after pressing the shutter button.

Instructions

1. Turn the mode dial on the top of the camera so it is in in one of the still picture modes, which is any of the symbols except the symbol of the movie camera and the black box with a heart in it. Those modes are for taking video and reviewing your favorite pictures, respectively.

2. Press the down arrow button once to set the self-timer for 10 seconds, twice to set it for two seconds and three times to set it to take one picture after 10 seconds and a second picture after eight seconds. You will return the camera to normal operation if you press the down arrow button a fourth time.

3. Frame the subject of the photograph using the viewfinder or the LCD screen.

4. Press the shutter button halfway to focus the shot and then fully to start the timer. The picture or pictures are taken when the set time is up.
