How Do I Turn on the Internal Modem in my Acer Laptop?

Your Acer laptop computer will have come with a dial-up speed 56K computer modem installed inside of it. This modem will allow you to connect your Acer laptop to a standard dial-up Internet connection if you so choose. This modem will be disabled automatically on certain models of Acer laptop computers. If you want to actually use your internal modem, you're going to have to enable it using the tools present in the Windows operating system.

Instructions

1. Click "Start."

2. Click "Control Panel."

3. Click "Network and Sharing Center."

4. Click "Change Adapter Settings."

5. Right click on the icon for the internal modem in your Acer laptop computer.

6. Click "Enable." This will turn on the internal modem in your Acer laptop computer.
