How to Fix Airport Card Settings on a MacBook Pro

Connect to the Internet with your MacBook Pro.

The Airport card on MacBook Pro laptop computers allows the system to connect to a wireless Internet connection (although it is called Airport card, you do not need to be in an airport to use the Internet connection). If you are running into issues connecting to a wireless signal, you need to perform troubleshooting steps to correct the issue.

Instructions

1. Power on the Apple MacBook Pro and wait for the operating system to boot up.

2. Click the wireless icon in the upper-left corner of the computer screen to launch the Airport card settings pull-down window.

3. Select to turn the Airport card "On," then click "Open Network Settings."

4. Choose the "Network Name" pull-down menu. This features all of the networks in your area. Select the network you always want your computer to use as a default Internet connection. This allows you to connect to this Internet connection even when other options are available.

5. Click "Apply" to finalize your settings. This corrects any issues you have been experiencing with your MacBook Pro not connecting to the correct signal or failing to use a wireless connection.
