How to Tuxedo Fold a Napkin
Formal or festive dinner parties often call for an influx of elegant decorations such as centerpieces and candleholders, chargers and placemats. A suitable way to give each place setting a finished elegant look is to fold cloth napkins into a decorative design. There are many to choose from, such as flower shapes, crowns, fans or birds. 1
Lay the napkin out in front of you on a flat surface. Pull the right side of the napkin over to the left side, folding it in half. Fold it in half again. You now have a small square in front of you.
-
2
Turn the napkin so that the last crease that you made lies vertically on the left. Grab the first layer of the top right corner, and roll it towards you, stopping at the center of the napkin. Look at the width of the finished roll that you have created.

3
Grab the second layer of napkin of the top right corner and fold it towards you, underneath the first roll that you have created. However, you don't want to fold this layer so that it's completely hidden. You want to leave a band of this layer visible that matches the width of the rolled layer on top.
-
4
Fold the next layer away from you, but under the layer that you just folded. Like before, you don't want to completely conceal this layer; rather leave a band of the fold visible that is the same width as the other two layers.

5
Fold the right side and the left side of the entire piece behind the napkin so that it becomes a rectangle. Place the napkin on the plate.
