How to Plug Guitar Hero Drums into a PlayStation 2

Play the drums on your PlayStation 2 now.

The popular Guitar Hero series has expanded into new instruments with recent games like Guitar Hero: World Tour. Plugging the drums from World Tour into the PlayStation 2 can be confusing, because the wire's connector does not fit into the PlayStation 2's controller port. However, even though the drums do not fit into the controller ports, plugging them into the system is very simple.

Things You'll Need

• Sony PlayStation 2
• Guitar Hero: World Tour
• Guitar Hero: World Tour drum kit

Instructions

1. Turn your PlayStation 2 on. If there is a disc in the system other than the Guitar Hero: World Tour disc, remove it.

2. Plug the connector wire from the drums into the PlayStation 2's USB port. The USB port is a rectangular-shaped connector located to the right of the controller ports.

3. Insert the Guitar Hero: World Tour disc into the console.

4. Check to see if the game recognizes your drum kit.

Tips & Warnings

• The mic also plugs into a PlayStation 2 USB port.

• Do not pull on the connector wire while it is plugged into the system. This could damage the PlayStation 2's USB port or the drum kit.
