Once a car battery dies, it needs to either be recharged or replaced if recharging is not successful. Cars and engines are designed to work with a specific type of battery and the same type of battery must be used for the car to work properly. Finding a correct replacement battery for your car can be done easily.

Instructions

1. Pop your hood and locate your car battery. It should be toward the front of the engine on the right side. Some models may have the battery in the trunk.

2. Inspect your current battery and read the labels and markings on it. The battery will say on it how many volts it has and what size it is.

3. Go to an auto supply store and buy a battery with the same markings and specifications as your current one. If you can get your car to the auto supply store, many chains will change the battery for you as a part of their service.
