How to Make Angels & Fairies With Beads
Angels and fairies are a delight to both children and adults. They add an attractive sparkle when used as holiday ornaments or to enhance floral arrangements. The same beaded angels and fairies will make colorful gift-tie ornaments and brooches. The variety and colors of beads available will leave you with hundreds of ideas on creating more items.
Things You'll Need
- 82 beads, 6mm (your choice of color)
- 26-inch wire, 22 gauge
- Beading pliers
- Wire cutters
- 4-inch piece of a gold or white pipe cleaner

Place 12 beads on the 26-inch piece of 22-gauge wire. Push them to the end, leaving about 1/2 inch of wire. Wrap this end of the wire around the longer part of the wire right behind the last bead you put on. This will form the beaded head.

String 30 beads onto the long end of the wire. Bend and wrap the wire at the bottom of the head section. Form this section into a triangle shape with the point being at the top. There should be 10 beads across the bottom and 10 beads on each side.

Place 20 beads onto the wire. Wrap the end of the wire around the point at the bottom of the head section.

Add 20 beads to the loose end of the wire. Wrap the loose end around the bottom section at the base of the head. Bend and form the two 20-bead sections into wing shapes.

Thread the loose end of the wire back up through 2 or 3 beads of the head section to secure it, and cut it off with the wire cutters.

For an angel, wrap one end of the pipe cleaner at the the top of the head and form it into a circle for the halo.
For a fairy, use the piece of pipe cleaner to make a wand.

Tips & Warnings
Enhance these ornaments by adding sections of lace over the wings or using odds and ends of lace to create gowns.
