How to Install FastAccess DSL Extreme 6.0

FastAccess DSL is a service that lets you surf the web at a rapid speed.

The FastAccess DSL Extreme 6.0 is an Internet service offered through BellSouth. DSL is a super-fast Internet connection that lets you download movies, music and other files very quickly. Internet pages also load much faster than with dial-up service. The FastAccess DSL Extreme 6.0 Internet kit comes with everything you need to install your network, including all the cables and software. You will need an account with BellSouth before you try to install the hardware.

Things You'll Need

• FastAccess kit:
• Phone line
• Ethernet cable
• Phone filters
• Software CDs
• Computer

Instructions

1. Call BellSouth to set up your account. They will activate your phone line.

2. Place the FastAccess CD into your disc drive to install the software. Follow the instructions on the screen.

3. Connect a phone filter onto every phone jack you have in the house. The filters let you make calls and surf the web at the same time without disrupting any data. It screws on like a splitter attachment.

4. Place the modem software CD into the disc drive and follow the instructions to install it.

5. Connect the phone line into the phone filter you are using for your modem. Insert the other end of the jack into your FastAccess modem.

6. Connect the USB cable from your computer to your modem.

7. Connect the power adapter to the modem and plug it into a power source. Your computer will recognize the new hardware and download any drivers.
